Title: R&D Associate II/Associate Scientist I Location: MD, Gaithersburg - Corporate Headquarters Req: 01863 Position Summary: MedImmune, Inc. has a new opportunity for an R&D Scientist II / Associate Scientist I in Oncology. This position will be responsible for discovering and validating new oncology targets and establishing, performing cellular or biochemical assays to develop biological assays to develop biological therapies. Individuals with a B.S., M.S. or equivalent degree, expertise in cancer biology, and a strong laboratory skill set are encouraged to apply. Innovation, creativity and the ability to interact within a collaborative environment are very important. Ability to multi-task is required. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Will develop, implement, and perform assays for new target discovery and validation for the development of new biologic therapies in oncology. Laboratory activities will include routine cell culture, biochemical and cell-based assay development and screening. Requirements/Qualifications: Expertise in cancer and cell biology, especially in biotech setting, a strong laboratory skill set. Ability to multitask, excellent data analysis, verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills/Abilities: - Expertise in cell-based assays and cancer biology - Strong hands-on skills on most of the following: RNAi, Western blotting, FACS, ELISA - Well organized and able to prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses independently - Ability to multi-task, independently analyze and solve problems Job Complexity: Medium. Will be required to balance laboratory work, experiment design, and collaborative interactions with co-workers. Supervision: Candidates should work independently, with limited day-to-day supervision. (supervision required, level of independence)
Educational Requirements
