Title: Scientist I/II
Location: MD, Gaithersburg - Corporate Headquarters
Req: 02202
Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):
The major responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the application of structure and functional knowledge to design and experimentally improve antibody function. The ideal candidate must have solid hands-on experience with phage display or other high throughput screening technologies to evolve the desired properties. He/she should be able to independently plan, design and execute experiments as well as follow literature, interpret results and direct new approaches. Good interpersonal and oral/written communication skills are neccessary. Experience and knowledge of structure-based protein design will be a plus.

| Requirements |
Position Requirements
Experience: Requires 2-5 years of post-degree research experience in antibody/protein therapeutics, or 8+ years of equivalent experience if with a MS degree. The ideal candidate must be passionate about new protein engineering technologies and have hands-on experiences with all modern molecular biology techniques. He/she should have broad knowledge of antibody structure and function and have extensive expertise in antibody/protein engineering. The candidate should also have good knowledge of the relevant literature and be able to develop creative solutions to scientific problems. Experience in protein biochemistry and biophysical characterizations are appreciated. Industry experience is strongly preferred.
Educational Requirements
Education: Ph.D. in biological sciences or related discipline
