Title: Associate Director, EHS and Business Continuity
Location: MD, Gaithersburg - Corporate Headquarters
Req: 02253
TITLE: Associate Director, EHS and Business Continuity
PURPOSE: To lead and manage the company business continuity function globally, and lead the Gaithersburg site EHS department. Responsibilities include developing a global business resilience and continuity process using best-in-class approaches, establishing strategy and systems to mitigate risk within the business, and to communicate resource needs to appropriate management.
REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Environment, Health & Safety
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops, implements, and continually improves the corporate EHS business continuity program to address financial, complicne, reputational, and product-to-patient risks across the company.
2. Develops strategy for tracking business continuity action plans with each facility and function, and communicating their status to management as needed.
3. Benchmarks with internal (eg AZ) and external business continuity functions and organizations to establish best-in-class practices that assure alignment, consistency, and superior outcomes from the risk mitigation and/or management process.
4. Tracks and reports business continuity leading and lagging metrics to drive improvement and reinforce accountability.
5. Responsible for developing and implementing EHS business continuity training programs needed throughout the corporation, including tools for sites to establish effective self-audit processes.
6. Leads/participates in internal corporate compliance investigations.
7. Develops strategies to monitor and determine impacts of current and emerging EHS regulations. Monitors, communicates, and establishes action plans for those which could have an impact to company operations.
8. Builds cross-functional relationships with key departments to foster support for continual environmental improvement.
9. Hire, manage, assess, and develop EHS professionals within the EHS group.
