Title: Buyer II Location: MD, Gaithersburg - Corporate Headquarters Req: 02224 Position Summary for Buyer II: Responsible for purchasing materials and services to support MedImmune. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Purchases laboratory materials, disposables and general supplies using approved suppliers and in accordance with all applicable internal policies and procedures to ensure goods and services are properly secured with emphasis on quality, customer service and cost reduction. ? Communicates purchase order and delivery information to MedImmune staff and departments. ? Communicates potential issues with delivery dates, rejected material, replacement material, expedited orders and documentation to the appropriate departments. ? Coordinates and makes the necessary arrangements for processing discrepant supplied items and material and makes the proper disposition on rejected items. Issues replacement purchase orders as required on returned items and materials. ? Represents MedImmune in an ethical and professional manner. ? Reviews and maintains accuracy of computer and hard copy purchasing records. ? Works closely with Accounts Payable and Receiving to reconcile problems associated with three way match transactions. ? Perform follow up on orders and expedite supplier deliveries.

Special Skills/Abilities: o Must have exceptional organization and time management skills. o Must be detail oriented. o Effectively manages change, is flexible, make timely quality decisions. o SAP Procurement experience o Able to effectively handle multi-task and changing levels of responsibilities. o Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills to be able to provide timely feedback and communicate appropriately with other departments. o Energetic and self-motivated team player/builder. o Knowledge of procurement. o Strong knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook). o Project experience on cross functional teams.
Educational Requirements
Requirements/Qualifications: Education: A BS degree in business administration or related materials management field, or a science or technical undergraduate degree preferred but not required. Experience: Minimum of 2 years professional experience in Purchasing
