Description
Title: Manager, Material Management*
* Title will be determined commensurate with experience
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Req: 02183
Responsible for Materials Management, MedImmune Warehouse Operations, and oversight of Contract Packaging within PA Site Operations in accordance with established procedures, cGMPs and EHS requirements. Responsible for review and revision of existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or creation of new SOPs for use by packaging contractor. Act as a liaison between contract packager and MedImmune management. Multi-disciplined with the extensive knowledge and hands-on experience to perform the following responsibilities:
• Expiry date calculation approval – G6/03
• Trained for real time review
• New Package design and design of packaging operations
• Design, maintenance and qualification of Cold Chain controls for samples and product
• Shift Liaison
• Initiate APG0009 percent reject investigations
• SAP entry & confirmations
• Provide leadership for regular and season temporary employees
• FDA, EMEA and other Regulatory Agency Inspections
• Approve domestic & international labeling artwork
• Revise / Author SOPs and Master Packaging Instructions MPIs
• Approve batch / lot MPIs
• Coordinate shipments to international distribution centers
• Manages expiry dating for manufacturing
• manages investigations and approves deviations

Position Requirements
> 5 years supervisory experience as a Manager or higher
8 - 10 years related experience in a commercial manufacturing setting, preferably in the vaccines or biotechnology industry with focus on Materials Management, Inventory Control, and implementation of business systems
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, typically with a concentration in Biology, Chemistry, Business or Engineering. An MBA is a plus.
