The analyst, Vaccine R&D Finance will serve the key Finance business partner for MedImmune’s Vaccine R&D function in CA. The role will serve as the Controller for this area of the business and drive all required financial planning, reporting, analysis, and decision support activities. This analyst is expected to develop a deep understanding of the business and become a highly valued business partner able to influence the Vaccine R&D Leadership in a collaborative fashion. Position Requirements Major Duties & Responsibilities
• Controller responsible for MedImmune’s Vaccine R&D function.
• Member of the R&D finance leadership team
• Member of the Vaccine R&D client leadership team
• Coordinate, prepare, and communicate the quarterly forecasts, annual operating plan, and annual update to the 10 year strategic plan
• Oversee the monthly financial close process for client functions
• Review, analyze, and report on monthly financial results
• Provide financial modeling, analysis and decision support for all significant initiatives/decisions including Portfolio Valuations and Capital Investments
• Interact / coordinate routinely with Vaccine R&D Finance as well as all other MedImmune Finance functions
• Ensure compliance with all required accounting policies, procedures, standards, and processes
• Accountable to maintain an effective internal control environment as established by MedImmune and AstraZeneca.
• Reports directly to the Associate Director, R&D Finance with dotted line reporting to the senior leaders in Vaccine R&D
• Ability to travel 25% of time Educational Requirements Requirements/Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor Degree, or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
• Master of Business Administration, or equivalent required
Experience
• 3+ years of progressive finance experience.
• Biotechnology or pharmaceutical R&D experience strongly preferred

Job Complexity
This role is considered moderate complex based on scale, scope, subject matter, client base, and diversity of responsibilities.
Supervision
This role is expected to perform as a member of the R&D Finance Leadership Team in a collaborative fashion, with little supervision.
